Julie Billiart Schools has helped my child become a better version of himself. The teachers and therapists at JB really know and understand how to reach children who learn differently.

Take the Next Step
Students and faculty enjoy the charm and prestige of a school within a mansion. The school includes a peaceful chapel, a spacious gym, sensory-friendly classrooms and quiet spaces, a show-stopping library, a makerspace, an occupational therapy gym, and speech, art, and music therapy rooms.
In 1954, the Sisters of Notre Dame founded Julie Billiart School on the Notre Dame Academy campus at Ansel Road. They welcomed 15 children into the school in JB’s first year. Three years later, enrollment and interest had grown so much that JB needed a new home. In 1957, Calvin and Charles Arter generously donated their late parents' 6-acre estate at 4982 Clubside Drive in Lyndhurst to the Sisters of Notre Dame.
The 22-room mansion on the estate, built in 1927, allowed enrollment to increase. As enrollment continued to grow, JB Lyndhurst added a new gymnasium and classrooms in 1971 and 1974, respectively. In 2006, the mansion underwent a 16,000 square foot addition (5 classrooms/resource rooms and an art room).
