All of the teachers and staff at JB are patient and willing to take the extra time to make sure we, as parents, understand and are comfortable.

Take the Next Step
Hello and welcome to JB Akron, a campus supported by a rich history and community partnership. I joined the JB family in 2017 for the launch of the Akron campus and am honored to be part of such a mission-driven organization. I have had the privilege of being an Intervention Specialist when we opened the doors in 2017 as well as serving as our Assistant Principal and Director of Special Education since 2019. I have seen such tremendous growth at JB Akron and I am honored to continue JB’s unique approach to education in Akron.
Together, with the JB Board, administration, and the support of the Akron community, we were able to make it a reality when we opened JBA’s doors in 2017. I’m proud to have been a part of the early conversations about a school like ours in Akron and to have seen this project through to where we are today. Today, as we enter the 2023 school year, we are expecting our highest enrollment to date.
Most importantly, our incredible students from Akron, Barberton, Hudson, Bath, Fairlawn, and many surrounding areas, are seeing tremendous progress as they gain confidence and skills in our unique setting.
JB Akron is a special place for kids who learn differently. This past year, we focused on the theme of “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” All year, we focused on our students working in groups, and how much more can be achieved and sustained when we lean on each other. Through collaboration and mutual trust, we help our kids to see and reach their full potential. This year's theme will be “ Kind words are like honey, sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” The focus will be on how our words and actions impact each other, and the difference it makes when we approach situations with positivity.

Thank you,
Gabrielle Redovian, M.Ed.
Principal, JB Akron
Gabrielle Redovian graduated from Walsh University with her undergraduate degree as a Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Intensive Intervention Specialist. She then completed her masters from Walsh University in Curriculum and Instruction. She got her start in teacher at Buckeye Local schools. She first heard about JB when Jason Wojnicz, former Akron Principal and current Director of Student Programs, came to speak at St. Sebastians about JB and what they had to offer the community. She attended the event that evening and left knowing it was where she was called to be.
Gabrielle joined JB Akron in 2017 as an Intervention Specialist supporting our 2nd graders. She moved into an administrative position as our Assistant Principal and Director of Special Education before becoming Principal in the fall of 2023. She looks forward to living out the mission at JB and thoroughly enjoys working with all of our families. She can’t wait to continue to see JB Akron and our students grow!
