They have all the resources necessary, specialized to the individual learning of each child, and the heart that goes with it. I don't think we would have stayed in Ohio if it wasn't for JB!

As the days of summer wind down, it’s time to start thinking about settling back into learning mode and the school year routine. As part of our series on how to manage summer slide, let’s look at the transition back to school.
How to Transition From Summer to School:
Reestablish Routines: Some routines need to be redeveloped such as sleep schedules or offering choices (“would you like to read and then go to bed or engage in screen time?”)
Emotional Check-Ins: Use a daily feelings chart or mood thermometer so kids can express how they’re feeling about school starting.
Role-Play Social Situations: Practice greetings, asking to join a game, or responding to conflict.
Revisit School Skills at Home: Use money to focus on math skills, make meals together and measure ingredients, and read together.
Going back to school isn’t just academic, it’s social and emotional, as well. A thoughtful transition helps reduce anxiety, frustration, and could make returning to a new routine more seamless. We hope you have a wonderful school year and we can’t wait to see all our students and families!
