What does trauma look like to a young child? Traumatic events can include death, divorce, loss, and other events (like a national pandemic) that could make a child feel a lack of control or agency. These types of events can generate anxious feelings that last for days, weeks, or even years after the trauma takes place. In this webinar, Maggie Schmidt and Danielle Manzeo, two certified intervention specialists and trauma support group facilitators, will help attendees understand the connection between trauma and anxiety.

Maggie Schmidt and Danielle Manzeo are certified intervention specialists at Julie Billiart School Lyndhurst. Together, they serve as facilitators of Rainbows for All Children, a support program designed to give children a place to open up about what they experience in life and how to cope, all while giving them a safe and supportive environment to do so. Julie Billiart Schools are a network of three, private K-8 schools that educate and empower children with mild to moderate autism, ADD/ADHD, anxiety, dyslexia, and other learning differences.

Attendees will walk away with:

A stronger understanding of traumatic events and triggers for young children
An understanding of when and how anxiety can coexist with trauma
Tips and coping skills to help children manage anxiety
