It was a fantastic start to the new school year for Julie Billiart Schools' Brecksville campus, which opened its doors on Wednesday, August 20, at full capacity. After launching in 2024 with 50 students in grades K-4, the campus now serves a maximum of 142 students in grades K-8, including a new Begindergarten class.
Principal Alyssa Buzas described the first day as "extra special" and a reminder of "how special Julie Billiart Schools are" as she welcomed both returning and new families.
This milestone is a testament to the hard work of the staff and admissions team. "Reaching full capacity at our Brecksville campus is a true testament to the growing need for specialized education and the confidence our families have in the Julie Billiart model," said Lannie Davis-Frecker, CEO & President. "We are so proud to be able to serve more students in the Brecksville area and provide a place where every child can feel a sense of belonging and truly thrive."
To accommodate this growth, a new playground was built over the summer for the Begindergarten and Kindergarten classrooms, completing the campus’s two-year phased opening. This expansion increases the total capacity for the entire JB network to over 500 students.
