I don’t think I will ever be able to put into words how grateful I am that you saw my daughter for all that she is today and all that she is yet to become.

[Westlake, OH, August 29, 2022] This past week, Julie Billiart School Westlake (JB Westlake) opened its doors to more than 85 students in kindergarten through eighth grade. In the fall of 2021, JB Westlake opened to grades K-4 and served approximately 45 students. Now, with grades 5-8 added, JB Westlake can serve up to 132 students.
“I am in complete awe that we will serve double the children this fall as last year. This speaks to the need and our mission activated on the west side. We are so excited to continue the good work”, said Samantha Evers, Principal of JB Westlake. “I am incredibly proud of all that our faculty and staff have accomplished in this first year of being open. Now with the completion of our lower level, we will be able to expand our mission to even more students.”
JB Westlake, like all Julie Billiart Schools, educates children with mild to moderate learning and social differences including autism, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, and others. It is one of the only specialized schools for children with learning differences on the west side of Cleveland. Students enjoy a modern, spacious school building with sensory-friendly classrooms, a large gym, a beautiful chapel, therapy rooms, specially-designed quiet zones, and plenty of space to learn and play. Like the other JB campuses, the school offers a 6:1 student-to-teacher ratio in primary grades and an 8:1 ratio for grades 3-8, two intervention specialists per grade, an onsite BCBA, and onsite speech, occupational, music, and art therapies.
“Knowing how hard everyone in our organization has worked to make this possible is just another example of our commitment to our students,” said Lannie Davis-Frecker, President and CEO of Julie Billiart Schools. “We are expanding the number of children we can serve and we expanded our team by hiring 15 employees for the coming year at JB Westlake.”
Over the summer, JB Westlake underwent a large construction and renovation project to add seven classrooms and resource rooms as well as dedicated therapy spaces, restrooms, and administrative offices. This concludes the two-year phased opening approach for the JB network’s third campus. The opening expands the capacity for the total number of students in the JB network (Lyndhurst, Akron, and Westlake) to nearly 400.
Spaces are available in most grades. To inquire about openings or to schedule a tour, email admissions@jbschool.org. JB Westlake will hold Interested Family Open Houses beginning in September.

Julie Billiart Schools, a community of schools with campuses in Akron, Lyndhurst, and Westlake, strive to build self-confidence, inspire Christian values, and empower K-8 students with skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm for life-long learning. Small class sizes, onsite specialized therapies, and highly experienced intervention specialists are just a few ways that Julie Billiart Schools take students with mild to moderate autism, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning difficulties beyond education, and beyond expectations.
