Students welcomed safely back to school on August 25

Julie Billiart Schools reopened its doors to students in Akron and Lyndhurst on August 25th. While this school year is a bit different than previous years, we were thrilled to welcome our kiddos back. JB has been preparing for the health and safety of our students for several months.

"Keeping a safe and healthy school is the first priority as we entered the 2020-21 school year. By utilizing the guidance provided by the Ohio Board of Health and the CDC, along with analyzing our school environment, we were able to develop procedures to promote a healthy school setting,” says Jason Wojnicz, Principal of JB Akron. “Procedures for personal hygiene, school sanitization, and social distancing are embedded throughout the course of the entire school day. There is nothing we want to see more than our students continuing to enjoy our JB communities. We can do this by being mindful of each other."

Sanitization stations have been set up throughout the school buildings. Social distancing floor markers have also been placed in classrooms and throughout the buildings to help students visualize a safe distance from one another. All students, faculty, and staff are wearing face masks. Everyone is also washing and sanitizing their hands frequently to minimize the spread of germs. Our COVID-19 Response Team continues to meet almost daily, as the health and safety of our students remain our top priority. We are confident that by taking these appropriate measures, our students will have a fun, successful, and productive year.
