Julie Billiart Schools are honored to receive two outstanding awards that celebrate excellence in education and quality of workplace. Julie Billiart Schools look to their mission of educating and empowering children with learning differences as the reason and driver behind these awards.
“When you have such a powerful mission, it's an honor to come to work daily and serve our children,” says Lannie Davis-Frecker, President/CEO of Julie Billiart Schools.
Only 175 companies made this year’s Plain Dealer Top Workplaces list, and Julie Billiart Schools were one of them. The list is based exclusively on employee feedback obtained through a third-party survey managed by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey measures 15 “drivers of engaged cultures” that are essential to the success of any organization including alignment, execution, and connection.
Julie Billiart Schools were also recently named a 2020-2021 NASET (National Association of Special Education Teachers) School of Excellence. The distinction of a NASET School of Excellence is given to select qualified licensed private special education schools. The honor is awarded to private special education schools, like Julie Billiart Schools, that meet rigorous professional criteria and exhibit truly exceptional dedication, commitment, and achievement in the field of special education.
“It is an honor to receive the awards of Top Workplace and the NASET School of Excellence,” states JB Akron Principal, Jason Wojnicz. “Here at Julie Billiart, we have a group of dedicated professionals who are truly compassionate about their students and their growth. Our faculty and staff's commitment to the school demonstrates how unique and incredible our learning environment is to all who are a part of our school community.”

Our incredible mission speaks to these distinctions, as we have amazing kids who make us great,” says Davis-Frecker. “Our Faculty and Staff go above and beyond to make Julie Billiart Schools excellent. We are so proud that we are being recognized because of their work.”
“It is exciting to be awarded a Top Workplace as well as a NASET School of Excellence,” adds JB Lyndhurst Principal, Jodi Johnston. “We know that our teachers are amazing and exemplify the JB Way, so it's fantastic to have these two groups honor the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff. I couldn't be prouder!”
Julie Billiart Schools gave us hope after our daughter was diagnosed with a learning disability. At JB, she thrived in the small classes, received necessary therapies, and developed the self-confidence to ask for help when she needed it.
