Welcome to Julie Billiart Schools, a family of K-8 coeducational, independent day schools for children with learning differences.

Through generous gifts from individuals and community partners, we’re able to offer nearly $1M per year in need-based financial aid to families who demonstrate a clear need.

Our mission of educating and empowering children with learning differences extends to children from all backgrounds. We could not possibly offer this financial aid without the ongoing support of our donors. Financial Aid vs. Scholarships

Financial aid is available as a result of the generosity of our donors and can help cover the gap between the full cost of tuition and the amount a family receives from a scholarship. Scholarships, on the other hand, are provided by state funding and can fund a significant portion of tuition costs.

Julie Billiart Schools is a provider of two Ohio Department of Education scholarships - the Autism Scholarship and the Jon Peterson Scholarship. Depending on eligibility, families should first apply for one of these scholarships, as they often cover a large percentage of tuition. After completing a scholarship application, families who may struggle to cover the full remaining difference are eligible to apply for additional financial aid as needed.

Applying for Financial Aid

To help our team objectively assess what each family is able to contribute toward tuition and fees, we use FACTS Management. FACTS is a confidential third-party system that families can use to submit financial aid applications. Please know that financial aid is offered on a first-come basis. Julie Billiart Schools reviews completed financial aid applications in the order in which they are received and determines eligibility for aid.

Financial Aid Decisions

When making decisions about tuition assistance, our independent Financial Aid Committee critically assesses each applicant’s FACTS analysis of the family's estimated contribution. The Committee takes into account the FACTS analysis, our total financial aid budget, our schools’ policies and procedures, and the needs of our entire applicant pool. Please note that financial aid decisions and awards are separate from admissions decisions and involve a separate application process.

open-quote Julie Billiart Schools gave us hope after our daughter was diagnosed with a learning disability. At JB, she thrived in the small classes, received necessary therapies, and developed the self-confidence to ask for help when she needed it. close-quote
