Begindergarten is a kindergarten readiness program that offers a full day of learning and support for children as they grow socially, emotionally and academically.
Designed to bridge the gap between preschool and kindergarten, Begindergarten focuses on building essential skills and preparing students to successfully transition to a JB kindergarten classroom or one that best fits their needs. Begindergarten is an excellent entry point into the Julie Billiart Schools community, but it's important to note that other pathways are available to join our school.
Students must be five years of age by September 30, 2025. Begindergarten is only being offered at the JB Brecksville campus for the 2025-26 academic year.

2025-26 tuition costs will be announced later in the school year. Begindergarten tuition will mirror K-8 and include the same services and accomodations.
Every JB student has an official diagnosis that qualifies him or her to receive special education services. Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Autism Education Plan (AEP), are helpful because they communicate common language, issues and needs.
However, we do not require students to have an educational or medical diagnosis – although available scholarship funding is contingent upon an IEP or AEP.
Yes. If your child has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Autism Education Plan (AEP) from your home school district, he or she is qualified for either the Jon Peterson Special Needs Program or the Autism Scholarship Program offered by the state of Ohio. Begindergarten is a full-day program, however, the first two weeks of the school year will be half-day to support the child's transition to a full-day schedule.
Yes. Aftercare is available for all JB students. Aftercare runs from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. and is $10 per hour.
Aftercare includes a snack before engaging in outside/inside play, games, art, and supervised academic work.
