Take the Next Step

Students with mild to moderate autism, anxiety, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences find success at Julie Billiart Schools because we celebrate their potential, nurture their curiosity, and customize our teaching to their unique learning styles.

One of our first teachers, Sister Mary Francois of the Sisters of Notre Dame, famously said, “if I can’t teach your child to read, I will change the way I teach.” This attitude guides all of our certified intervention specialists and onsite therapists to this day.

Where other public and private schools might struggle to meet the diverse sensory and processing needs of children with learning differences, we understand, cater to, and specialize in individualized support that helps students become empowered learners and self-advocates.

All JB students, with a base of loving support and a curriculum of challenging academics, graduate from high school or are on track to do so. Many of our kids go on to college and become doctors, lawyers, teachers, scientists, and authors. Others become community advocates, church or community volunteers, food service workers, mothers, and fathers.

More importantly, they become empowered individuals who have learned their inherent worth and practice love, acceptance, and belonging in their daily lives. Just as every child is different, so, too is every path to success. At JB, we recognize and celebrate the fact that success looks different for every one of our kids.

Our Schools

We are a network of four private, coeducational day schools serving students in grades K-8 with learning differences. Our students are bright, creative, and curious children coming from more than 70 school districts located throughout Northeast Ohio.

All JB teachers are certified intervention specialists. Onsite Board Certified Behavior Analysts, speech therapists, occupational therapists, art therapists, and music therapists supplement challenging academics with therapeutic support.

With two teachers to each classroom, JB maintains a 6:1 student to teacher ratio for primary grades and an 8:1 student to teacher ratio for grades 3-8. Because continuity is critical to a child’s academic success, our team of special education experts also work closely with our students' families to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed for outside the classroom.

The JB Way

Creating an atmosphere of acceptance in the classroom, recognizing students’ unique gifts and talents, and collaborating with our students’ families to reach goals is just a part of the culture at Julie Billiart Schools. The “JB Way” is who we are, what we do and how we do it.

It's the combined qualities, characteristics, and attributes, demonstrated by St. Julie Billiart herself, that set us apart from other public and private schools. It’s our core, our strength, and our reminder that ALL children have the potential to be happy, successful students.

JB Parent

open-quote Julie Billiart Schools gave us hope after our daughter was diagnosed with a learning disability. At JB, she thrived in the small classes, received necessary therapies, and developed the self-confidence to ask for help when she needed it. close-quote
