On Saturday, September 12, 2020, Julie Billiart School Akron hosted a First Communion Ceremony and Mass for three third grade boys and one fourth grade boy. Their families were in attendance to witness the special day.
Fr. Anthony Simone of St. Sebastian Parish led the Mass. JB Akron Principal, Jason Wojnicz, spoke at the service.
"This was a memorable experience for not only the students and their families, but also for JB," said Wojnicz. "This was our first opportunity to share First Communion in the JB Akron Chapel. It was a special day."

All attendees wore facial coverings and practiced social distancing guidelines. In the spring, JB Akron will host another First Communion. Current Catholic second graders will join in First Communion in May of 2021.
