I don’t think I will ever be able to put into words how grateful I am that you saw my daughter for all that she is today and all that she is yet to become.

Take the Next Step

Anderson Whitaker has always had a great passion for art in all forms. Whether it’s constructing interesting figures with legos, painting, building - you name it - it’s always sparked creativity. After coming to JB, Anderson quickly found his home away from home in Art Therapy with Mrs. Hughes. He signed up for Art Club and now takes private lessons with her on the weekends. “Mrs. Hughes has been an amazing teacher and influence on Anderson,” said Anderson’s family.
Recently, Anderson entered the Cricket League Art contest. The assignment was simple - submit a piece of art based on something that “inspires” you. One day, Anderson had taken a photo of his family’s backyard Fuchsia flowers during the fall and was "inspired to paint a picture of the fuchsia flowers.
The photo turned out so lovely! So wonderful in fact, that it earned Anderson second place and a nice certificate from Cricket. You can see Anderson’s painting in the May/June 2023 issue of Cricket Magazine.
Anderson is also an accomplished mathematician. He has received many honorable mentions in the Noetic Math Competition, an international math competition that attracts students who are gifted in mathematics. This year he also participated in the Continental Math Competition, a set of five math "meets." In mid-April, Anderson will be attending TeenPact Ohio at the Ohio Statehouse. This is an event for children interested in civic-mindedness from a Christian perspective. As part of his time there, he has been preparing a speech to give to his peers and has been writing to his local government representatives. Anderson also takes Python (high-level computer programming) classes and enjoys creating computer games from scratch.
In addition to math and art, Anderson loves reading, building natural structures outside, and jogging. He serves as an altar server at mass and is an usher-in-training at his local parish. He is the eldest of four, and his twin siblings also attend JB!
Way to go, Anderson! The entire JB community is so proud of everything you’ve accomplished and we wish you luck at TeenPact Ohio!
