All of the teachers and staff at JB are patient and willing to take the extra time to make sure we, as parents, understand and are comfortable.

Take the Next Step

A major renovation project is underway at JB Akron as of Easter Break. We are extremely excited about the possibilities that this project will bring to our Akron campus. Most importantly, it will allow us to reach our full capacity of 132 students. We know that with these new renovations, we will not only be able to serve more families but also enhance how we currently serve our students.
The current chapel will be divided into two floors with a connecting corridor to create classrooms, resource rooms, and a chapel.
The creation of new classrooms will allow for Music Therapy, a Makerspace, and other services to have larger, dedicated spaces throughout the building.
The project is set to conclude in December of 2022.
If you are interested in a preview of the new space, check out our full press release, here.
JB Lyndhurst will undergo some general campus improvements and updates throughout the spring and into the summer. Two key internal promotions will create continued growth for our schools. Jodi Johnston will be moving into the Director of Academics and Teacher Development position and Chris McCloskey will become Principal of our Lyndhurst campus. You can read more about their promotions, here.
Also at Lyndhurst, we are looking forward to another great summer of Beyond Camp. With a record-breaking number of applications, we are working to expand our camp to our other campuses in the coming years. We were pleased to announce that Heather Clink has been named Camp Director. You can read more about her promotion, here.
Many exciting things are happening around JB Westlake as we prepare to wrap up our first year of school! This year has been one for the books and we are looking forward to opening grades 5-8 in the fall. Here are some of the changes we’ve already started and what you’ll see in the months to come:
Before construction started we worked to finalize the footprint to maximize the functionality for our students and teachers.
Demolition started over Easter break. Then construction will resume right after the last day of school with the bulk taking place over the summer.
We are starting to order furniture for the new classrooms. The furniture will match our current classrooms. We ordered student desks, teacher desks, kidney tables, whiteboards, bookshelves, and collaborative seating for the lower-level corridor.
We are incredibly excited to bring you quarterly updates from each of our campuses! Be sure to follow us on social media for sneak peeks along the way. These changes across our campuses wouldn’t be possible without the support of our village.
