When you take better care of yourself, you provide better care to those you love, as well as those in your care. Parents and caregivers of those with learning, mental, and physical differences understand burnout better than anyone. Our friends at Courage to Caregivers have teamed up with us to present this live breathing meditation for anyone who needs to pause, notice, reflect, and reset. In addition to learning a breathing technique, and a short meditation focused on compassion fatigue, Courage to Caregivers will share the science behind the stress reduction benefits of meditation. This exercise will help participants feel grounded, supported, and more at ease.
Courage to Caregivers provides hope, support, and courage to caregivers and loved ones of those living with mental illness. They provide one-to-one caregiver peer support, breathing meditation classes, support groups, and educational resources. Cathy Varley is one of Courage to Caregivers Breathing Meditation Facilitators. She is a Certified Yoga Instructor RYT-200 and Reiki level II practitioner. She enjoys teaching all types of yoga, especially trauma-sensitive, restorative, and yoga for teens.
Attendees will walk away with:
