A Letter from our Board Chair
I am honored to serve as JB Schools Board Chair. First and foremost, as a proud alumni parent, I have witnessed how JB can change the literal trajectory of a child’s life. The work started by the Sisters of Notre Dame over 70 years ago, to serve those who learn differently, has impacted so many. When children struggle academically or socially, it affects the entire family. I am so grateful to work with and represent an organization that can be life-changing for this community.
I have experienced the impact of this organization first-hand through my son David and his K-8 experience at our Lyndhurst campus. David started Kindergarten with trepidation and graduated from 8th grade as a young man prepared for high school. The JB teachers and staff engaged my son with expectations for what he could do and passion for his success. David launched from JB armed with a box full of the tools he has used to continue to thrive. I am grateful every day that a place like JB exists.
The Board of Directors is responsible for working with the President/CEO to advance the mission of Julie Billiart Schools while exercising fiduciary oversight and ensuring accountability. The vision of serving students with our unique learning environment and approach, all supported by the charism of the Sisters of Notre Dame - what we call the “JB Way”, is what guides everything we do.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who believes in and supports the work of Julie Billiart Schools. The children and families we serve depend on you. To our JB community - parents, faculty and staff, advocates, providers, donors, grantees, and friends - thank you for all you do to showcase our mission and continue to move us forward. You truly represent the JB Way and none of this would be possible without you.
We say and we truly believe: God is good, all the time!
