We are so excited to introduce our second annual recipients of our Teacher and Staff of the Year awards for 2024. Our parents were given an opportunity to nominate one teacher and one staff at their respective campuses for this award. In order to be nominated, the teacher or staff member needed to exemplify Julie Billiart Schools core values.
Commitment - Shows a commitment to excellence in both learning and teaching.
Collaboration - Displays strong collaboration with students, parents, other faculty and staff, administration, and community members to provide a holistic education in an optimal learning environment.
Compassion - Acts with compassion and respect for all. Accepts students and their families as members of one loving family.
Courage - Leads by example and exudes a courageous, "can-do" attitude.
JB Akron - Congratulations to Katie Kindry and Nurse Vivi
Mrs. Kindry has been kind, compassionate, and steady. She has communicated well and been willing to work with my child’s needs.
Nurse Vivi offered a safe and loving environment for our child this entire school year. My child faced many challenges with staying with her group and sought refuge with Nurse Vivi. No matter the situation, Nurse Vivi remained calm, compassionate, and willing to collaborate on ways to best help.
Ms. VeeVee shows the children compassion. She has such a calm and welcoming spirit. No matter how minor an "injury" may seem, she is compassionate and treats each child with warmth and care.
JB Lyndhurst - Congratulations to Julie Sofonia and Patrick Koenig
Mr. Koenig is patient, knowledgeable, attentive, calm and professional with students and parents.
He is helpful with tutoring throughout the year and of course his impact through Bro Council.
Julie is there every day, the first and last person you see. She is kind and helpful, and ALWAYS looks for the student's best interest in situations. No matter the task, Julie gets it done. She has made difficult situations much easier by being so amazing at what she does.
JB Westlake - Congratulations to Kaitlyn Filimon and Calli Elber
Ms. Filimon has been amazing and really stepped up as a NEW teacher. She has collaborated beautifully with her co-teacher. She does it all with maturity, passion, and heart.
Miss Elber has been a force of positivity and a great source of encouragement for our child. Our child routinely looks forward to the days they have OT and often recounts their session as the highlight of their day. Miss Elber is a great role model for our child and consistently creates a space for them to be seen and feel valued. Miss Elber has helped them grow in many ways and gain more confidence in their own abilities. I am grateful they have the opportunity to work with such an amazing role model who passionately forwards the independence and skills my daughter needs to be successful. Thank you Miss Elber for 'seeing' our child.
Congratulations to all of our recipients! Your dedication to our students and our mission is reflected in the incredibly kind words shared by our families.
Congrats to our grads! The best is yet to come.
