Volunteer Opportunities

Julie Billiart School nurtures and empowers students with special learning needs. It is a Catholic K-8 school rooted in the educational principles of the Sisters of Notre Dame and welcomes diverse faith traditions.

WORK WITH JB STUDENTS
Helping out with our students is a wonderful way to get involved with the spirit of JB! Opportunities include but are not limited to:
- Reading to children before or after school
- Playing sports or walking with students after school
- Helping with our art or music programs
- Providing snacks and/or special items for celebration days
- Enriching the kids' lives with your own special skill or talent

Commitment: Participating in most of these activities will require that you get fingerprinted and pass a background check. Time commitment is flexible.

HELP WITH SPECIAL EVENTS & COMMITTEES
Each year we have special events and we welcome your support in the form of volunteer time and/or event sponsorship. Some of these events include:
- Clambake
- Alumni & Former Student Gatherings
- The Gala, our annual benefit

Commitment: Time commitment is flexible.

DONATE TO OUR ANNUAL FUND
JB's life-changing programs and services would not be possible without the financial support of our donors. In addition to supporting our educational programming, the Annual Fund also allows JB to ensure that every child who needs our services can attend; the Annual Fund provides approximately $300,000 annually in financial aid to our students.

BECOME A MEMBER OF OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Our Board of Directors provides strategic planning and governance for Julie Billiart School and their input and advocacy is invaluable.

Commitment: Board of Directors meetings occur quarterly; preparation time is required. Members of the Board of Directors are expected to support the Annual Fund and to attend JB events whenever possible. In addition, most members of the Board are also members of at least one Board Sub-Committee (see time requirement below).

JOIN A BOARD SUB-COMMITTEE
Our Board Sub-Committees provide expertise and guidance. Our current committees include:
- Advancement
- Executive
- Finance
- Governance
- Investment
- Marketing
- Plant and Grounds
- Strategic Growth
- Technology

Commitment: Each Committee sets its own meeting schedule; most meet monthly or quarterly. Additional planning or research time may be required outside of meetings.
