As the COVID-19 Vaccination becomes available in Ohio, Julie Billiart Schools are working closely with our local boards of health to secure the vaccine for our school employees. We’ve strongly encouraged all of our faculty and staff to get the vaccine in order to protect themselves and their students from the ongoing spread of COVID-19.

In an effort to remain fully transparent and keep our school community safe, we want to share that a Julie Billiart School Akron student has tested positive for COVID-19. ​Because the student has not been in school for the past week, there has been no exposure among our students, faculty, or staff. No one needs to quarantine due to this case.

You may have seen that the Ohio Department of Health released ​updated social distancing guidelines for schools​. The guidelines note that three (3) feet social distance protocols can be used without the need to quarantine when a positive case is connected to a classroom of students when they are wearing their masks.

In an effort to remain fully transparent and keep our school community safe, we want to share that a Julie Billiart School Lyndhurst student has tested positive for COVID-19.

After careful consideration of the safety of our students, faculty, and staff, as well as a review of our total cases (two total confirmed isolated cases school-wide), we remain committed to staying open for as long as we can.

We are aware of today’s Stay at Home advisory by the Cuyahoga County Board of Health and expect to see more communications around the growing number of Northeast Ohio cases, including Summit County. Our COVID-19 Team is currently meeting about this advisory. We will be in touch with families with our response and plans within the next few days.
