Since no two students learn the same way, our interventions specialists adapt their teaching methods to meet the needs of how each student learns best. Our low student/teacher ratios (6:1), flexible learning environment and onsite therapists (speech, occupational, music, art, behavior), also contribute to our ability to meet each student’s unique learning needs. Recently named a “School of Excellence” by the National Association of Special Education Teachers, we have established ourselves over the past 65 years with a reputation of exceptional dedication, commitment, and achievement in the field of special education. We are proud and honored to be recognized for our innovative and successful approach to teaching and empowering students that learn differently.
Acceptance As a Catholic
As schools rooted in the educational principles of the Sisters of Notre Dame, Julie Billiart Schools welcome all faith traditions. Our students are loved, accepted and given a sense of belonging. We recognize each of their unique gifts and talents and ask each of them to work to their potential regardless of their abilities. Likewise, students are expected to treat one another with kindness, respect, and acceptance.
"Julie Billiart Schools has helped my child become a better version of himself. He no longer feels different when he's having a bad day and is now learning how to work through his frustrations. They have also helped him see that he's not the only one that has challenges. The teachers and therapists at JB really know and understand how to reach children that learn differently. Not only has the school embraced my child, but they have embraced our whole family."

The Julie Billiart Schools Family
Enrolling your child in Julie Billiart Schools means more than a quality special education. Know that you will be joining a family of teachers, administrators, therapists and other families that are loving, inclusive and welcoming to one another. We build relationships with families and provide the support they need to ensure continuity in their child’s world when he/she is not in school. Furthermore, Julie Billiart Schools’ parents and families find additional opportunities for community, friendship and support through participation in our Parent Action Committees, Adult Art Therapy program, and of course, there is always a need for volunteers throughout the schools!
