Understanding Executive Function

Executive function (EF) refers to cognitive processes to plan and direct activities. Participants will learn about executive function, the impacts EF has on student learning and how the continuum of low to high technology can support students in the educational and home environments. This session will focus on aligning technology features to support students in the areas of self-organization or management, time management, information management and materials management.
Mrs. Wendy Szakacs, MS, has been working with persons with disabilities for twenty-five years. She is presently employed as the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence (OCALI) Regional Consultant for Autism and Low Incidence for Northeast /Eastern Ohio. She develops evidence-based materials, provides technical assistance and professional development leading projects in social competence, bullying, behavior, communication, and executive function.
This event is open to anyone interested in attending, not just JBS families.

This topic is typically a full-day presentation for Wendy Szakacs but she has offered to provide us with a two-hour condensed version.
