Living, Loving, and Legacy of Sister Mary Francois

     Our Julie Billiart School Family will celebrate the life and love of Sister Francois on May 13, feast of St. Julie, with a school program and celebration as we desire to place her service within the context of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
     All of Sister's "yesterdays" speak of her love for the JB children and their families. They reflect the love of God with which she has lived out her religious commitment as a Sister of Notre Dame, to serve God's people. We honor Sister Francois on this day for showing us how to live in God's divine providence while drawing others to join in the task of providing the best education possible for children with learning disabilities.

    "Today" represents the 2007-2008 school year and all of its achievements and challenges. Julie Billiart School is challenged with the need to raise more than $650,000 to meet the expenses of the current fiscal year. More than half of these funds are raised through annual giving for operating expense. Support for the Annual Fund is critical to the school's budget and ability to plan for the future. Your gift to the Sister Mary Francois $100,000 Legacy and challenge will double that amount and help meet the demand for operating funds this year.

     "Tomorrow" represents Julie Billiart's preparation for future school years when the need for tuition aid is projected to increase. As tuition continues to increase in the future, more families are expected to seek financial aid, supplied in part through Julie Billiart's Endowment Fund. The challenge in support of "The Sister Mary Francois $100,000 Legacy" can help future students by providing up to $100,000 in new endowment income this year.

Celebrating the Julie Billiart School Tradition

     Saturday, May 17, 2008 will be an additional day of celebration of the Living , Loving, Legacy of Sister Mary Francois. Sister will be honored for her 53 consecutive years of service to Julie Billiart School.

    The day will begin with Open House from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm in celebration of the creative spirit of our children as exhibited in the Annual Student Art Show. It will also be a time to meet and greet Sister Francois. Here aresome examples of our JB children working at their art projects.
