This year we have gone Hollywood! The 5th grade is a star-studded class with many gifts and talents. We are looking forward to all of the fun that this year is sure to hold.

A few notes:

Please make sure you are signing each block in your child's planbook each night
Classroom goal sheets are to be signed at the END of each week and brought back to school on Monday

Are you checking Progressbook? It is a great way to stay informed about your child's progress.

WRITING CLASS

Blue, Red, and Purple groups spent a lot of time studying various forms of verbs. The red and blue groups are moving on to pronouns and how-to essays. The purple group will be writing how-to-essays after spring break.

In order to help the students edit their work and become even better writers, they have a Daily Language Review (DLR) sheet to complete when they come in to class. This counts as a grade each week.

SCIENCE

During the 4th quarter, we will return to studying science. We will spend a lot of time with all of the teachers, including Mrs. Sasso, to get ready for camp. Our main topics for the quarter: food chains, biomes, and space.
