LOOK to the LORD

Our school theme this year is "Look to the Lord."  The beauty of the peacock feather,

our logo, reminds us of the importance of keeping our eyes on our goal.

We are OF GOD, FROM GOD, and FOR GOD.

At each Liturgy a peacock feather is presented by a member of each grade

as a sign of renewing our promise to

LOOK to the LORD.

OUR NEXT LITURGY is on ASH WEDNESDAY, 9 March, at 8:30 a.m.

This a good time to TO LOOK TO THE LORD for a CHANGE OF HEART. )

Our Children showed how they care for those who are needy by bringing food for the FOOD BANK at St. Augustine.

GLEANINGS: "We are not human beings trying to become spiritual.  We are spiritual beings discovering how to be human." A religious educator, Jo Ann Paradise said this.  The following are her 6 WAYS TO FOSTER THE SPIRITUAL LIFE OF A CHILD:

1. Offer experiences of nature to provide the child with the sense of the interconnectedness of all life.

    2.  Take time to listen to the questions they ask about the meaning of life

and the nature of God.  Be honest when you do not know the answers.

3.  Provide frequent opportunities to reflect on their choices.

4.  Help them to develop a heart of gratitude.  You might want to start a gratefulness journal.

5.  Always connect life and faith.  A child needs to understand that living out God's plan will bring them

a life of happiness and peace.

6.  Teach children to pray-ers. Explore all forms of prayer: guided meditation, silence, spontaneous, and formal.
