St. Julie Billiart Quote

Julie Billiart School

Admissions Policy for Grades K- 8

Who is eligible?

Prospective kindergarten students must be age 5 by September 1. Students from age six to twelve must have an I.Q. of 80 or above with a deficit in one or more academic areas at the time of application. We accept children who may not meet the eligibility criteria for receiving state-funded special education services. Many of these youngsters can succeed if given more time to fulfill curriculum requirements. They often progress more satisfactorily with small group instruction in specially designed resource rooms.

Admissions

Julie Billiart School offers programs for moderate to mild autistic and/or developmentally handicapped children on a case-by-case basis. However, severe behaviorally disordered, emotionally disturbed, blind or deaf, as well as downs syndrome students would be better served where special services are available to meet the needs of those children.
